Hello. My name is Alison and I started this blog so that people can write about and read about Truckee, California. Truckee is on I-80 between Sacramento, CA and Reno, NV. The town is located in the beautiful Sierra Mountains. In Truckee, you will find Donner Lake, Tahoe Donner, old Downtown Truckee, amazing restaurants, lakes, campgrounds and lots of summertime events. In the winter, Truckee is home to many of the well known ski resorts of Tahoe, such as Squaw Valley, Northstar, Tahoe Donner and Alpine Meadows.
North Lake Tahoe is about 15 minutes from Truckee.
Reno or Stateline on Lake Tahoe (both Gambling spots) are about 30 minutes from Truckee.
San Francisco, Wine Country and The Bay Area are 3-4 hours from Truckee.

I spent a weekend at Clair Tappaan Lodge in August and had a great time! There was a presentation on the Perseids Meteor Shower and telescopes mounted outside so we could see the moons of Saturn and other cool things.

Food was great! So cool outside I needed a warm jacket – in August!
